Established in 1981, Waterbury Properties is a privately owned and operated real estate investment, development and management company. The primary focus of the company is acquiring supermarket-anchored neighborhood and community sized shopping centers.

Currently, Waterbury Properties owns and manages, through its principal, John Waterbury and various partnerships, six shopping centers, and one single tenant building. The majority of the properties are along the I-25 corridor in New Mexico, and Colorado. The remainder of the properties are in California. Since 1981, seventeen shopping centers, five office buildings and three single tenant buildings in five western states have been developed or remodeled by the company. Each project has involved some stage of construction.

Management, leasing, tenant administration and accounting are handled out of the Walnut Creek office, although several projects are leased by local brokerage companies. Most properties employ a maintenance company or individual who acts as an on site manager.

The company continues to seek shopping center opportunities in most western states.
